Privacy
food2eat is a small, invite-only recipe library run as a hobby for friends. This isn't legal advice, just a plain account of what it keeps.
What's stored
- Your email and name, so you can log in and so friends see who shared a recipe.
- Your password, only as a one-way hash. Nobody can read it, including the admin.
- Your recipes, their earlier versions, and links you share.
- Links that couldn't be saved (the address and the reason), so you can see what failed.
- How much each person uses the recipe-reading model (counts and token numbers only, never the recipe text), to keep costs capped.
- Login sessions, with the device's browser name and IP address, which expire after 30 days.
Recipe pages and text you send are sent to Anthropic's Claude model to read the recipe, under Anthropic's API terms; they're not used to train models. Images aren't copied: recipes link to the image on the original site.
Who can see it
Your library is private. Other people only see a recipe if you share a link to it, and only while logged in.
Taking it with you, or deleting it
Download all your recipes in Settings gives you every recipe as a .md file, in a .zip, any time. Delete account removes everything above for good, including your share links.
